About this Web Site

This web site was developed using Open Source software -- which is available at no charge, with source code. The server runs Apache on Linux, a freely-available operating system for personal computers, using the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) application stack. All of the software used to develop this site is available at no charge to you under the GNU Public License (GPL).

The site is fully database-driven and was developed using an application framework called "Cake" by Scott Sharkey of Linux Unlimited, LLC, a networking and web-development company specializing in Open Source, Linux, PHP, and Cake.

Use of the framework and database allows League Administrators to add/delete/change games, stats, news and standings, and to update the site without editing html, or having to worry about consistency of design, web standards, etc. All code produced by the site is XHTML-compliant according to current web standards.
